HERE’S THE SCOOP… I like vanilla, chocolate is great, and then there is Ben and Jerry’s New York Super Fudge Chunk^®! There are a few varieties that I can do without, pistachio, spumoni, and bubblegum! But there are many other flavors that I need to try. Baskin–Robins known for years with their 31 flavors now has over 1,000 flavors of ice cream, sherbet, sorbets & ices. With the rise of Cold Stone Creamery we can even invent our own flavors. I believe our insatiable appetite for variety is a reflection of being made in the image of an infinite God who delights in creativity.

Celebrating the many flavors of CB Mission Northeast is the theme of this year’s Come Together at the Word of Life Inn in Schroon Lake, New York, October 2-4. In simpler times our churches were primarily vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry. But in order to fulfill our mission of helping “the diverse peoples of the Northeast come to new life and maturity in Christ through healthy biblical churches” our churches dish out ministry that may more closely resemble Cold Stone Creamery. Although the message is the same (it’s still ice cream) it is served up in a variety of ways. Join us as we celebrate what the Lord is doing throughout the Northeast and around the world through our CB family.

Like your favorite ice cream cone on a hot day our Come Together brings refreshment for your soul through worship, bible study, prayer, and interaction with others in a relaxed setting. In addition to our speakers, seminars and forums we are planning a special Tuesday Celebration Service of what the Lord is doing though our CB ministries. As always we will have ice cream sundaes Monday evening – make it your way of course!

Conference Speakers

We are pleased to have two of our own as speakers for this year’s conference. Our Keynote speaker is Dr. Robert Frederich. Dr. Frederich was the pastor of First Baptist in Portland, ME until his retirement. He currently is a pastoral associate at East Auburn Baptist Church in Auburn, ME. Bob also developed and leads a ministry of pastoral mentoring for Vision New England. He has served for many years on several of boards for our CB national agencies and schools.

Our Bible Hour Teacher is Dr. Stephen LeBar. Dr. LeBar has been serving as the Executive Director of CBAmerica since July of 2004. Prior to his appointment he was the Director of the SWCBA with headquarters in Phoenix for ten years. His experience includes over 25 years of local church ministries, and teaching positions at three Bible Colleges.

Registration Information

To Register, please review the Word of Life Accommodations information below for pricing and then call Word of Life at 1-800-965-7177 to register by phone.

Word of Life Inn requires a $35 deposit per adult at the time of reservation.

Single Occupancy: In order to accommodate as many people as possible at the Inn, we encourage a minimum of two people to a room. CB Mission Northeast will maintain a list of those seeking to share a room. Please contact CBMNE Resource Center at 518.935.4619 for details.

Check in: You may check in at Word of Life on Monday, October 2^nd at 1:30pm.

The conference begins with Dinner at 5:00pm and the Evening Session will begin at 7:00pm. The Conference ends with lunch at noon on Wednesday, October 4^th.

Special Notes:

Cancellation policy: Cancellations 31 days or more prior to arrival are subject to a $10 processing fee. Cancellations within the 31 days will forfeit their deposit.

Extra meals can be purchased for those who have not made overnight reservations with Word of Life Inn. Meal tickets will be sold as space allows. Guests may start calling Word of Life Inn on September 5^th to purchase meal tickets. Meal Ticket Prices: Breakfast-$6, Lunch-$7, Dinner-$14.

Travel Directions

From the North: Take I-87 South to Exit 28. Follow signs to Schroon Lake. Proceed through the village. Word of Life Inn entrance will be on the right.

From the West: Follow I-90 East to Albany, Exit 24. Take I-87 North to Exit 27. Word of Life Inn entrance is on the left, 4 miles north of Route 9.

From the South: Follow the New York State Thruway to Albany, Exit 24. Take I-87 North to Schroon Lake, Exit 27. Word of Life Inn entrance is on the left, 4 miles north on Route 9.

From the East: Follow the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) West to the New York State Thruway (I–87) North. Follow the New York State Thruway to Albany, Exit 24. Take I-87 North to Schroon Lake, Exit 27. Word of Life Inn entrance is on the left, 4 miles north on Route 9.
