To the CBMissionNortheast Family: Since so many of you have entered the world of e-mail and the internet, I would like to keep in touch with you more frequently and more economically through an e-mail newsletter. I would like this newsletter to circulate among as many of our interested friends as possible.  Please forward this e-letter to key leaders in your church family who would appreciate a contact from CBMissionNortheast. I would especially like this information to be passed along to mission leaders in your church.

Partnership in Ministry

Our focus in 2001 is on partnership in ministry. That partnership is rooted in God’s Word and focused on His mission for the Church. That partnership is supported by commitment to shared core values and sustained by prayer. It is expressed in working together to fulfill our ministry P.L.A.N.S. Together we are Planting new churches, Linking churches together in ministry, Assisting churches in crisis, Networking pastoral leadership for churches, and Strengthening churches for more effective ministry.

CBNortheast Come Together at Word of Life

Pastor Bruce Stevens of United Baptist Church in Old Town, Maine shared the following with his church family in the church newsletter.

"My associate, Pastor Scott, and I enjoyed our three days of meetings at Word of Life Inn in Schroon Lake, New York this past fall. Our church is one of thirty-eight Conservative Baptist churches in Maine and one of 250 in the Northeast. Of all the thousands of churches in the U.S., we have taken upon ourselves the responsibility of caring for these particular congregations. We pray for each other, join together to send out missionaries, support ministry training, and help each other in times of need.

"My former church was an independent Baptist church which meant that it and I did not have the benefit of being a part of such a family of churches. I did not have other pastors to call upon for counsel, advice and encouragement. I find it immensely more helpful to be part of a group like the CB’s. The meetings in New York were inspirational, with God using them to challenge me in a few areas of my life and ministry, for which I am grateful. You may not be aware of the immediate practical benefits of belonging to the CB family of churches, but I assure you they are numerous and significant. Part of your offering goes to maintain this effective ministry and it is money well invested."

I would like to remind you to reserve October 1-3, 2001 for our upcoming "CBNortheast Come Together" at Word of Life. We will be sending out registration material in June and you will also find the registration material on our website www.missionnortheast.org.

Neighbors Building Together

Bob Christensen

In August 1993 Sally and I came to the Hillsboro County area of New Hampshire with one thing as our goal—to build a healthy, culturally relevant church that had a passion for reaching nonbelievers for Jesus Christ. Seven years later we’re still at it and making great strides, including building our very own facilities.

My wife, Sally, and I started hosting Bible studies in our living room while still in an apartment and we soon moved to meet at an area elementary school. Christ Community Church has grown consistently since then and has been blessed with a congregation that is made up of largely "un-churched" families that had previously given up on church but not on God. Now they have both.

In 1996 we covenanted together to purchase a beautiful tract of land in the center of Weare, NH. We took a three-year loan and then, in June of 1999, paid the loan off. In June of 2000 we began the first phase of a 10,000 square foot building. We are in the process of raising the capital need (about $30,000) to complete the first floor area. Our families have volunteered and given financially to get the building to where it is now. To get an overview of the building project log on to Christ Community Church’s web site at www.cccandme.com.

We want to thank you for your participation in partnering together with us as we continue to build and reach out in a concerted effort to expand our Lord’s Kingdom. Your investment will pay large dividends for His glory!

Editor's Note: Christ Community Church is our "Neighbors Building Together" partnership ministry for 2001. This church family would like to begin services in their new facility on Easter Sunday. To reach that goal they need your help. Would your church family consider a special gift at this time? Send your gift to CBNortheast, PO Box 3701, Albany, NY 12203 designated for "Neighbors Building Together--Weare, NH."

God's Holy Word says:

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus"-- Philippians 1:3-6
